Rules for Organizations & Facilities:
Requirement | Rule |

Max Holding Time | Infectious waste may be stored for up to 7 days at room temperature. If stored longer than 7 days, the waste must be refrigerated at or below 40°F (5°C). Under no circumstances may infectious waste be stored for more than 60 days, regardless of temperature. |
Labeling Requirements | All containers holding infectious waste must be red or orange or marked with the international biohazard symbol and labeled with one of the following:
